What was the highlight of The Zeit River Kwai
Not a 4 star hotel
Property was overlooking the river and a short walk to the river Kwai bridge. Breakfast was good, although won’t cater for if you leave earlier than 7:30am. Pool is bigger than in the photos.
Staff weren’t very welcoming, especially if you arrive before the 2pm check in. No offer to help carry bags to the room or up the stairs (no lift). Room had an ant infestation, clear hadn’t been cleaned properly before arrival. When asked to clean again, they swept the room and only sprayed with insect repellent after we asked them to do so. Walls are paper thin, so could hear the crying baby next door and very loud music from nearby. Rooms are basic and in need of refurb, particularly the floors which were concrete and had large cracks in.

Staff were great and breakfast was good. Room was on the small side but clean
Amazing location, short walk to the main area of the Bridge and museum. View of the river from room. Fantastic
I booked a room for 2 adults 1 7 year old. There was only 1 bed and they wanted to charge me 300 extra per night for a mattress on the floor for our daughter.

Loved this place and would come back - great affordable luxury with awesome pool and gardens.
Great hotel - spacious and modern. Fabulous views of pool and river from top floor (requested high floor and was given it too). Great breakfast with plenty of choice. Wonderful pool and gardens.
Just could do with a touch more care on cleaning - bathroom has blind which was mouldy and corners of shower mouldy too. Not a deal breaker for us but would be for others. Bedroom floor need a repaint too.

What was the highlight of The Zeit River Kwai
Great view, poor reception
The reason why we've chosen this place is the view, great as expected! Especially when we're having breakfast by the river. Moreover, the hotel located in the center of the city which we can reach a cafe and restaurant by 5-10 mins drive. Also, the maids are so nice! They always smile and say hello to us:)
My friend took a shower just before the light bulb exploded, pieces of glasses fall on my friend's back and head (luckily he covered his head with a towel). Then we called the reception to inform them. The reception girl said 'We will send a maid to clean' and she didn't say sorry about what just happened to their guest or not even ask if my friend is getting hurt or not so we decided to complain when we're check-out. The same reception informed us that "There will be no responsibility from the hotel if we're not happy with that, you can write a review to let the owner knows." (ทางโรงแรมไม่มีนโยบายรับผิดชอบค่ะ พี่เขียนรีวิวเลยค่ะเจ้าของจะได้รู้) To be honest, we're all totally understand that the explosion was an accident but what we don't understand is why the hotel staff doesn't care about their guests at all. Anyway, we've got a call from the hotel to apologize and they want to give us a 50% discount for the room we paid (about THB750). We truly hope that there will be more improvement in training staff to care more about their guests.
